The Bates Australian rally dynasty will be celebrated at the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, with Neal Bates and Harry Bates bringing several modern and classic Toyota rally cars to run in the rally category at the event on March 16 and 17.
The Bates’ have a long association with Toyota, with Neal Bates Motorsport running Toyota's official rally program in Australia. Neal Bates claimed four Australian Rally Championship drivers' titles, while son Harry Bates has won two Australian Rally Championship titles.
The Bates’ will be bringing a 1980 RA40 Celica, 1991 ST185 Celica, 1994 ST205 Celica, 1998 Corolla WRC and 2022 GR Yaris AP4, as part of the new rally category at the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival.
Neal Bates will also be appearing in the Grand Marquee at 10:45am on Sunday 17 March, alongside Scottish rally driver Alister McRae to discuss rally heritage.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing Garden is a new trackside marquee at the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, featuring a beer garden and including a food and drink package, arcade games, car displays and more.
Held the week prior to the Australian Grand Prix, the Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival is a museum in motion, displaying historic, rare and significant racing vehicles on the Victoria Park section of the Adelaide Street Circuit.
Categories featuring Formula 1, V8 Supercars, Group C and A touring cars, sportscars and more will feature over the course of the Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, in addition to on-track demonstrations, off-track displays, villas and more.
