FXX! What a car!

The fearsome Ferrari FXX will be unleashed on-track at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival with none other than Supercars legend Craig Lowndes at the wheel.

The FXX is one of the world’s most exclusive cars. Based on the Enzo, only 30 were ever built, and they were only ever sold in Europe to existing Ferrari owners, who are only allowed to drive the car on track days approved by Ferrari.

The FXX has a carbon tub and bodywork, weighs just 1165kg, and reaches 100kmh from a standing start in just 2.5 seconds. It’s powered by an 800hp 6.3 litre V12, driving through a 6-speed semi-auto transmission that can complete a gearchange in just 80 milliseconds.

We’re not expecting Lowndes to reach the car’s top speed of 345kmh, but the sound of that V12 at 8500rpm will certainly make your hair stand on end.

The FXX will make the journey from Victoria Park to the Gouger Street Party on the Friday night and is confirmed for a track session on Sunday. We’re hoping to be able to confirm a Saturday session for this beast on Saturday too – stay tuned for details!
